Abby's Journey

We'd like to invite you to read Abby's Journey from the beginning. We hope that her story may help a family who is facing the same battle with DIPG. We are praying for a cure and are praying for every child who is diagnosed with cancer.

This is Abby's story.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone!

Our 2011 is not starting out the way that we would like. We got called by Dr. Dodson, Abby's pediatrician, who told us that they detected a start of a bacterial infection in Abby's blood. So Dr. Dodson called and spoke to Dr. Lili here at Children's Hospital and initially she said to just get a new sample in Cape and they would monitor it. As we were loading the car up, Dr. Dodson called and said that Dr. Lili called Dr. Haung who said that he wanted Abby in Children's hospital to administer an antibiotic and to pull the culture from her blood. So we are back up here at Children's Hospital and they said that she will be here for at least 48 hours until the culture comes back clean. So they are preparing to give her an IV Anti-biotic and are giving her a saline drip now. As we hear more news, I will keep everyone updated.

On other news, Emily is getting over her cold and we started her on an anti-biotic for an ear infection last night. Mary-Beth is healthy and crazy as always! Keep the prayers coming!

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
